About the Program

The Auesomely You Magazine Internship Program is more than an internship — it’s a transformative experience designed to prepare the next generation of storytellers, advocates, creators, and media professionals.


We are dedicated to creating space for emerging leaders who are passionate about inclusion, advocacy, and media excellence. Whether you dream of producing inspiring content, designing meaningful visuals, or amplifying

 

unheard voices, this program equips you with the hands-on experience and mentorship to help you thrive.

Our interns are an essential part of our mission: to empower through acceptance and celebrate uniqueness.

This is an unpaid educational program designed for college credit and career development, offered on a rolling basis each quarter.

What to Expect

  • Real-World Experience:
    Interns will actively contribute to Auesomely You Magazine’s quarterly issues, media platforms, and advocacy initiatives. You’ll work side-by-side with our editorial team, designers, producers, and leadership.

  • Mentorship & Development:
    Learn directly from media professionals, brand leaders, and advocates shaping conversations around autism, neurodiversity, mental health, and disability inclusion.

  • Quarterly Cohorts:
    We onboard new interns every quarter, providing structure, community, and growth opportunities.

  • Flexible & Remote-Friendly:
    Participate from anywhere with remote flexibility, while gaining access to real-time projects and optional in-person event experiences.

  • Community Impact:
    Contribute to a movement dedicated to elevating unheard voices, sharing transformative stories, and building global awareness for autism and beyond.

Program Dates 

The Auesomely You Magazine Internship Program runs year-round with rolling admissions. We accept applications at any time and place accepted candidates in the next available cohort.

  • Quarterly Cohorts:

  • Spring: January – March

  • Summer: April – June

  • Fall: July – September

  • Winter: October – December

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking highly motivated, proactive, and purpose-driven college students and emerging professionals who are passionate about building careers in media, advocacy, publishing, and creative industries.


This program is designed to offer meaningful hands-on experience across multiple departments, contributing directly to our mission of empowerment, acceptance, and storytelling that changes lives.

Each candidate should carefully review the following Roles & Responsibilities to ensure the Auesomely You Magazine Internship Program aligns with your interests, goals, and desired career path.

General Expectations for All Interns

Regardless of department, all interns are expected to:

  • Uphold the values and mission of Auesomely You Magazine.

  • Maintain professionalism, integrity, and respect in all communications and interactions.

  • Demonstrate accountability, reliability, and the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Work collaboratively with team members and leadership.

  • Participate in virtual or in-person meetings as required.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Proactively seek learning opportunities and mentorship.

  • Represent Auesomely You Magazine positively at events, online, and in community spaces.

  • Complete assigned tasks and projects with creativity and attention to detail.

  • Receive constructive feedback and use it as an opportunity for growth.

  • Successfully complete the program to receive an Official Certificate of Completion.

Executive Assistant Intern
(To Founder, Crystal Jordan)

  • Manage executive calendars, scheduling, and communications.

  • Support event coordination and logistics.

  • Serve as a liaison with vendors, partners, and media contacts.

  • Draft emails, presentations, and briefing materials.

  • Attend events with the Founder and represent the brand professionally.

  • Assist with administrative tasks and project organization.

Graphic Designer Intern

  • Design layouts for magazine covers, features, and digital content.

  • Create social media graphics and event visuals.

  • Maintain brand consistency across all designs.

  • Prepare design files for both print and digital publication.

  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions.

Fashion Stylist Intern

  • Assist with styling for photoshoots and editorials.

  • Source clothing, accessories, and props.

  • Maintain fashion inventory and manage returns.

  • Attend photoshoots and assist with wardrobe styling.

  • Research trends and propose style concepts for issues.

Podcast Production Intern

  • Support recording and editing podcast episodes.

  • Research topics, guests, and create show notes.

  • Promote podcast episodes on social platforms.

  • Monitor analytics and suggest improvements.

  • Collaborate with the Media Production team on episode themes.

Social Media Intern

  • Create and schedule engaging content across platforms.

  • Develop strategies to grow audience and engagement.

  • Monitor trends and respond to audience interactions.

  • Assist in the promotion of magazine features and events.

  • Analyze social media insights and report findings.

Marketing Intern

  • Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns.

  • Conduct market research and audience analysis.

  • Support the creation of newsletters, ads, and promotional content.

  • Track campaign performance and recommend improvements.

  • Help coordinate partnerships and outreach initiatives.

Contributor Writer Intern

  • Write compelling, well-researched articles aligned with our mission.

  • Pitch fresh and relevant story ideas.

  • Conduct interviews and research for articles.

  • Meet editorial deadlines and accept feedback constructively.

  • Promote published articles via personal platforms (optional).

Contributor Editor Intern

  • Review and edit contributor submissions for clarity and alignment.

  • Provide constructive feedback to writers.

  • Fact-check and ensure accuracy in all content.

  • Collaborate on editorial planning and themes.

  • Assist with workflow management and editorial meetings.

Field Journalist Intern
(Events Focused)

  • Attend live events, cover stories, and write recap articles.

  • Conduct on-site interviews with speakers and attendees.

  • Support live social media event coverage.

  • Capture event photos or videos (if required).

  • Submit timely, detailed articles for digital and print publication.

Production Intern

  • Assist in Producing Engaging Content:
    Support all stages of production, from pre-production planning and filming interviews to editing videos for social media, digital campaigns, and live events.

  • Collaborate with Creative Teams:
    Work alongside editorial, social media, and design teams to align visuals with our brand storytelling and ensure high-quality content across platforms.

  • Develop Technical Skills:
    Gain hands-on experience with cameras, lighting, sound equipment, and editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or Canva Video.

  • Build Your Professional Portfolio:
    Participate in creative brainstorming, receive mentorship from media professionals, and create portfolio-ready work with the opportunity to earn a Certificate of Completion and future recommendations.
