On August 20th at Regal Atlantic Station, Atlanta lit up with star power and cultural pride as the highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Run premiered. Directed by Christopher Stokes, the creative powerhouse known for his hit-making streak on Tubi, Run is already making headlines—not only for its chilling storyline but also for its groundbreaking choice to feature an all-Black cast in a genre that has too often overlooked us.

The energy was electric as guests celebrated the film’s boldness: a science fiction story that centers Black talent and imagination in a space where our stories are rarely prioritized.

For decades, sci-fi has been dominated by narratives that exclude or minimize Black characters, leaving audiences of color yearning for stories where they are seen as more than sidekicks or stereotypes. Run boldly disrupts that narrative, proving that Black stories belong everywhere—even in galaxies far away.

This aligns deeply with our mission at Auesomely You Magazine, where we champion the belief that every individual deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Just as our seven pillars—Autism Awareness & Acceptance, Neurodiversity, Disability Awareness, Mental Health & Emotional Wellness, Advocacy, Disease Awareness, and Parenting & Caregiving—remind us of the power of visibility, Run reminds us of the importance of representation on the big screen.

The premiere wasn’t just about the movie; it was about community and culture. Attendees dazzled in bold colors, shining fabrics, and fierce confidence that matched the moment’s significance. Amber shared that the atmosphere felt like a movement—a reminder that when we show up for each other, the world takes notice.
From the flashing cameras on the red carpet to the anticipation inside the theater, the night was a testimony to the beauty of unity. Every laugh, cheer, and round of applause confirmed what we already knew: the world is more than ready for Black-led sci-fi.

Run is more than a film; it’s a cultural statement. It challenges the industry to broaden its horizons, to make room for diverse voices and fresh perspectives. For us, it reflects what we live by every day—creating platforms where marginalized communities are not just included but centered.
Christopher Stokes and the cast of Run have set a new standard for sci-fi storytelling. By putting an all-Black cast at the heart of an imaginative, high-stakes story, they’ve proven that representation isn’t a trend—it’s the future.
The cast of Chris Stokes' 2025 movie Run includes Annie Ilonzeh, Marques Houston, and Erica Mena as the leads, with additional roles played by Erica Pinkett, Drew Sidora, Ken Lawson, Claudia Jordan, and Obba Babatundé

At Auesomely You Magazine, we celebrate this milestone because it reflects our truth: when voices long overlooked finally get the spotlight, the impact is immeasurable.

Seen. Heard. Celebrated. That’s not just our tag line it’s our way of life. And with films like Run, the world is catching on.
