ATLANTA, GA — July 16, 2025

In alignment with one of Auesomely You Magazine’s core pillars—Disability Awareness—our founder and advocate Crystal Jordan was in attendance at a powerful event hosted by the City of Atlanta: the “Educate and Engage: Lunch & Learn Vendor Showcase” as part of Disability Pride Month.

"As an Atlanta native, this event felt deeply needed. Hearing the Mayor affirm that Atlanta is moving forward and making sure people with disabilities have their voices heard truly made my heart smile."

The event was held at the Atlanta City Hall Atrium and created an intentional space for visibility, education, and community connection.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the City of Atlanta welcomed families, professionals, and advocates to a vibrant vendor showcase and panel discussion focused on accessibility, inclusion, and the power of representation. The event highlighted various organizations and service providers supporting individuals with disabilities, offering real-time access to valuable resources.

Crystal Jordan, a national autism advocate and the voice behind Auesomely You Magazine, was on the ground covering the showcase and speaking with families and vendors alike. “This is what community looks like,” said Crystal. “When cities invest in awareness and visibility like this, real change becomes possible.”

The event was hosted by Accessible ATL in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. A special moment included the unveiling of the Equity in Action and AccessibleATL Awards, honoring those making strides in disability advocacy throughout Atlanta.

This Lunch and Learn wasn’t just about recognition—it was a reminder that inclusion is a daily effort. With lunch provided for the first 100 attendees, the event ensured accessibility in more ways than one.

Crystal’s presence amplified the voices of families with children like her son Zachariah, who lives with Autism Level 3 and is non-speaking. Her platform continues to elevate conversations around access, dignity, and policy—always from a lived-experience lens.

At Auesomely You Magazine, we were proud to attend and witness the dedication of Atlanta’s leaders and families who are working tirelessly to build a more inclusive world in Atlanta. Being from Atlanta , this makes me proud of my city becuase we are focusing on inclsuion , and not leaving autistic people out the conservations. Events like this remind us that every story deserves to be seen, celebrated, and heard — a mission that lies at the core of what we do.
